Small Group Cycling Tours

I love to spend time riding my bicycle in special places. I like quiet roads with low traffic levels that are surrounded by beautiful scenery. Add good food, comfortable lodging and personal on-road support during the rides and you have the essential ingredients of our small group cycling tours. We only produce a small number of tours each year (6 in 2019) and space is limited to 5 riders. Click the links below to get all the information on our trips. Trip dates include the travel to and from the venue.

West Texas Cycling Adventure

April 1 – 6, 2019

We’ll travel to Marathon, TX to launch 4 days of cycling in the Big Bend area of West Texas. After cycling to the Indian Lodge in Fort Davis State Park, we’ll set up a home base for most of our tour.
Rides to Marfa and Balmorhea State Park will take up 2 more days before we ride back to Marathon.
We’ll enjoy sharing stories from the week as we enjoy a fine dinner at the 12 Gauge Restaurant at the Gage Hotel.

We provide lunch on the road each day. All other meals are included, as well as ride support, transportation and lodging.

Hill Country Cycling Adventure

May 16 – 19, 2019

How about a 3 day weekend?

Fredericksburg is a great place to eat, sleep and ride bicycles. We’ve been taking people there for more than 15 years and have developed the perfect weekend cycling package. Here is how it works.

You can select our Inclusive Package for 3 days lodging (Fredericksburg Inn & Suites), 6 meals (breakfast & lunch 3 days) and 3 rides (Friday, Saturday & Sunday). We’ll take care of the details so that you can enjoy the vacation. You’ll have time to explore Fredericksburg in the late afternoon/evening and visit different places for dinner each night (we can make suggestions).

You can select our Stay Somewhere Else Package and select your own lodging. You’ll find options just off Main Street or a few miles out of town, luxurious or basic. You might even decide to camp out. Fredericksburg has lots of places to stay with a variety of price points.

We offer a 30 mile (out and back) and 60 mile loop options on Friday and Saturday. Sunday morning we offer a 30 mile route.

Follow the links to get the schedule and package prices. We even provide links for you to discover alternate lodging options.

NEW for 2019

Katy Trail Gravel Tour

September 9 – 14, 2019

The Katy Trail is a linear state park in Missouri.  Katy Trail State Park is the longest developed rail-trail in the country.  The park, built on the former corridor of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad (MKT or Katy), is 240 miles long and runs between Clinton and Machens with 26 trailheads and four fully restored railroad depots along the way. The trial is made of decomposed limestone and has been weathered to a very solid surface. We encourage our riders to have at least a 32cm wide tire for the best stability and comfort. A gravel bike is the best design for comfort while a hybrid is better suited if you plan to ride shorter distances. We’ll transport you, your gear and bicycle to Clinton MO where we begin a journey that will travel all the way to the end of the trail (4 days). Meals, lodging, transportation and ride support in included. My favorite lodging is at the Hotel Frederick in Boonville, right on the trail.

We offer 5 spots on each tour, so check your schedule and let’s get ready to ride.

Big Bend Cycling Adventure

September 22 – 28, 2019

Have you ever been to Big Bend National Park?

My favorite place in Texas is BBNP. It was the first place I selected when we began producing small group tours back in 2002. We combine 4 days of cycling with one free day to enjoy hiking in the Chisos Mountains.

We travel to Marathon, TX before cycling into BBNP the following day.

After 2 days of cycling, you’ll get a day off to use as you please. I like to hike up into the Chisos Mountains on the Lost Mine Trail for views like this one.

We’ll have one more day of cycling within the park before heading back to Marathon.

We’ve offer packages for this journey in 3 flavors: mostly camping OR all indoor lodging for single or double occupancy. As with all our trips, packages include all transportation to and from the venue plus all meals, ride support and lodging. If you decide to use the day off for a river rafting trip or some other adventure, those costs and arrangements are up to you.

Our support team is on the road to help you adjust the route length to your desired distance and challenge. We have been known to shuttle people over big hills or past downhill segments. We want you to enjoy your vacation.
